Calling all singers! 
Are you looking for a fun and free summer activity? Look no further! The Shore Notes A Cappella Chorus is hosting a fantastic 'summer camp' just for you. 
Join us on five consecutive Monday nights: July 28, August 4, August 11, August 18, and August 25 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. We promise that you will discover the pure joy of a cappella singing!
We welcome all women 18 and older, including mothers and daughters who want to share this wonderful experience together.
Don't worry if you don't read music! We will provide online learning tracks so that you can practice at home. This camp is open to all singers, regardless of your musical background. On the first night of camp, we will determine your singing range and find the perfect part for you among the four-part a cappella sections: tenor, lead, baritone, and bass.
Invite your friends and family to join us on Monday, August 25 at 7:30 p.m., for our performance finalé - Friends & Family Night!
at Church of the Palms UM, 1425 Okatie Hwy, Okatie SC. You and the chorus will showcase the two incredible songs that you learned during the camp. Get ready for a standing ovation!
But that's not all! If you wish to continue your musical journey and join the Shore Notes Chorus, you'll find a lifelong hobby and cherished friendships.
Rehearsals take place at Church of the Palms UM, 1425 Okatie Hwy (Route 170), Okatee, SC.

- Shore Notes A Cappella Chorus wins Second Place Small Chorus at Regional Competition

The Shore Notes A Cappella Chorus performed at the Coastal Harmony Region 9 competition in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday, April 5, 2025, where they earned a Second Place medal in the Division A (Small Chorus) category. Region 9 competition is held every spring and it includes Sweet Adeline choruses from Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. The chorus winning First Place Overall is invited to compete at the Sweet Adeline International competition which is held annually in various cities around the world.

Mark your calendars for Monday, March 31st. You're invited to join us for "Friends & Family Night" where we will perform our two contest songs and sing some other fun tunes as well! This is our "dress rehearsal" before we leave for Orlando, Florida later that week for Region 9 Competition. We will be all decked out in our sparkly, black and silver costumes so you don't want to miss it!
The fun begins at 7:30pm at the Church of the Palms UM at 1425 Okatie Hwy (170), Okatie, SC. Park around back. There will be a Shore Notes A Cappella sign at the door to the Fellowship Hall. See you there!

The holiday season is here! The Shore Notes A Cappella Chorus is busier than the elves in Santa's workshop as we prepare to sing throughout the Lowcountry the first two weeks in December. In addition to serenading all the residents at our local retirement homes, we're also singing at various community tree lighting events (Indigo Run, Belfair, Palmetto Hall, Hampton Hall and Long Cove). The icing on the cake is performing free concerts at four different Lowcountry churches! Please join us for "Singin' in the Holidays!"

Exciting News!!! The Shore Notes A Cappella chorus is hosting a Guest Night on Monday, September 16, at 7:00 p.m., at Church of the Palms UM, 1425 Okatie Hwy (Hwy 170), Okatie, SC 29909. Church of the Palms is located where Argent Blvd., intersects with Hwy. 170.
Explore your inner diva and join this award-winning group of women who love to sing 4-part a cappella harmony! Being able to "read music" is not necessary as our songs can be learned through digital media. If you are not sure which part you sing, no problem. Our chorus director will evaluate your singing range when you arrive!
Get a sneak peek into the world of singing 4-part A Cappella Harmony, also known as "Barbershop" singing. Come meet this wonderful group of women and learn more about the art of a cappella harmony and ringing chords. Shore Notes singers are from all walks of life and are convinced that singing is the fountain of youth and more addictive than chocolate cake! If you can carry a tune, you’ll fit right in.
So who should attend? Women who love to sing! We welcome all vocal ranges and skill levels. No audition on Guest Night – just bring your passion for singing! (Audition required for membership.)

- Shore Notes retreat weekend held in Beaufort

Members of the Hilton Head Shore Notes attended a weekend retreat in Beaufort, SC, on March 24 - 26, where they spent many hours on the risers rehearsing the two songs that they will perform at the Region 9 Competition in Daytona Beach, later in the Spring. They were coached by Kim Higdon, director of Bridges of Harmony Chorus in Jacksonville, FL, and lead by Iris Christ, director of the Shore Notes. In addition to honing their skills on the competition songs, they also enjoyed dinner together at one of Beaufort's many downtown restaurants, and on Saturday evening, divided up into "family teams" and competed with each other in a hilarious game of Family Feud, complete with family talent and lots of laughter!
