For the past four weeks, every Monday night we've had a Summer Camp for Singers and we've welcomed some incredible guest "campers" on our risers! So we'd like to show you what we've accomplished in 4 short weeks! On Monday, August 28th, you are invited to attend our free "Friends and Family Night" where the Shore Notes members and campers will combine efforts for an awesome performance! Show starts at 7:30 pm at Okatee Baptist Church, 5467 Okatie Hwy, Ridgeland, SC. Don't let the Ridgeland address fool you. It's right on Hwy 170 halfway between Bluffton and Beaufort. See you there! Refreshments will be served after the performance! |
Are you a singer looking for a fun summer activity? If so, the Shore Notes women’s chorus is hosting a ‘summer camp’ on four Mondays: July 31, August 7, August 14 and August 21 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and you are invited to discover the joy of a cappella singing! We welcome 18 and older (mothers and daughters too!). Sign Up Here: https://forms.gle/fuAKzBwT5iS98dSTA You need not read music to attend. If you’re unsure of your singing range, you will be voice tested to determine which of the four parts suits you best. On Monday, August 28 at 7:30, the program finale will be a Friends & Family night, where you and the chorus will perform the two songs you learned at camp. Get ready for a standing ovation! And the icing? If you wish to join the Shore Notes Chorus, you will find a hobby and friendships to last a lifetime. Rehearsals are at Okatee Baptist Church, 5467 N. Okatie Hwy (Route 170), Ridgeland (Hilton Head and Beaufort chorus members carpool to rehearsal.) To register for Summer Camp, please fill out this form. For questions, please call Barbara at (843) 705-6852. |
Members of the Hilton Head Shore Notes attended a weekend retreat in Beaufort, SC, on March 24 - 26, where they spent many hours on the risers rehearsing the two songs that they will perform at the Region 9 Competition in Daytona Beach, later in the Spring. They were coached by Kim Higdon, director of Bridges of Harmony Chorus in Jacksonville, FL, and lead by Iris Christ, director of the Shore Notes. In addition to honing their skills on the competition songs, they also enjoyed dinner together at one of Beaufort's many downtown restaurants, and on Saturday evening, divided up into "family teams" and competed with each other in a hilarious game of Family Feud, complete with family talent and lots of laughter! If you would like more information about the Hilton Head Shore Notes, please call 843-705-6852 or email bjwnj@aol.com. | |||
